Indoor Puppy Class (recommended for puppies 8 weeks to 6 months old or older)

Get your puppy off to a great start in a safe, indoor environment. The indoor puppy class is designed for puppies to learn social skills, basic obedience and bond with you and your family while they develop a strong immune system. There is nothing as cute as a puppy but that same puppy can turn your life into a disaster without the proper guidance. Teach your puppy basic obedience and learn how to avoid fear aggression, dominance and bullying displays and over submission. Help your puppy to be relaxed and confident when around other dogs and people. In this six week class, using treats, toys and praise, you will start your puppy off in the best possible way. This class runs continuously on Wednesday evenings in Redwood City at Java Dog Training Center, 2601 Spring Street. Call 650-364-3706 for a registration form.

Outdoor Puppy & Beginning Obedience Class

If you prefer being outside and your puppy can safely attend an outdoor location, you may enroll in this class. Our beginning and puppy classes use positive, motivational methods to teach you how to build a solid relationship with your dog and to avoid common behavior problems (or how to eliminate problems that are already cropping up). You will begin teaching your dog a reliable recall, sit, down, stay, heel, and loose leash walking. Behavior information and questions and answers are included in each class. These 8 week classes will start again in January 2012. To find out more go to Pets In Need web site.

Intermediate and Intermediate II Obedience Classes

The Intermediate I class moves past the beginning level to increase and enhance the skills already learned. Students will practice more precision work and learn how to move from luring to reward-based training. This class continues working on socialization, obedience, behavior and incorporates new exercises. These 8 week classes will start again in January 2012. To find out more go to Pets In Need web site.

Advanced I & II Obedience Classes

These classes are for students who want to continue learning new skills for a family companion who is a pleasure to live with. These 8 week classes will start again in January 2012. To find out more go to Pets In Need web site.

This class also prepares those interested in obtaining a Canine Good Citizen certificate on their dog.  CGC testing is available once each session. These 8 week classes will start again in January 2012. To find out more go to Pets In Need web site.
